Utah's Attorney General recognized the work of Haiti in the fight against human trafficking

The Attorney General of Utah, Sean D. Reyes, today, on the occasion of the Proclamation on Human Trafficking Prevention Month and the Attorney General’s award for groups and individuals that have taken a leading role in the fight against modern slavery, at the Utah State Capitol Building, recognized a delegation of officials from Haiti, including Haitian Attorney General, Clame Ocnam Dames, for their efforts in fighting human trafficking and corruption in their country.

Last year, the Trump administration removed Haiti from its black list of countries with serious human trafficking problems but are not doing nothing or enough about it.

The Chief of the Haitian Police, Michel-Ange Gedeon, launched on December 27, 2017 a new police unit with the specific mission of fighting child trafficking at the border with neighboring Dominican republic.
