The United Kingdom appoints Sharon Campbell as Her Majesty's Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Haiti

Mrs Sharon Campbell has been appointed Her Majesty’s Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Haiti. She will succeed Mr Steven Fisher, who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment. She will take up her appointment during October 2015.

Mrs Campbell joined the FCO in 1983 and has held a range of positions in bilateral missions around the world. Her work has covered a wide range of issues including political, consular and financial policy along with commercial diplomacy and corporate services. Her most recent position has been as Ambassador to Costa Rica. She has also previously worked in Ministerial private offices in London.

On her appointment as Her Majesty’s Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Haiti, Mrs Campbell said:

I am delighted and honoured to be appointed to this position in a country with such a long and distinguished history. I look forward to further developing our already strong political and cooperation links with the Republic of Haiti. Building on our existing links, I am looking forward to working closely with the government in Port-au-Prince on a wider range of issues of mutual interest and benefit.
