The current Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations in Haiti, Mamadou Diallo has been appointed as the Officer-in-Charge of the United Nations Mission for the Support of Justice in Haiti (MINUJUSTH) replacing Susan D. Page.

At the same time, Ms. Page has been promoted to the position of Special Adviser to the Secretary General on the Rule of Law.

Dr. Diallo, who is also United Nations Resident Coordinator, Humanitarian Coordinator and Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), will lead the mission until the Secretary General appoints his new Special Representative.
MINUJUSTH, whose mandate was recently extended until 15 April 2019 by the United Nations Security Council, was established in October 2017 to assist the Government in strengthening the rule of law institutions in Haiti, to support and further develop the Haitian National Police, and to monitor, report on and analyze the human rights situation in the country.
