On Saturday, the President of the Haitian Senate Youri Latortue and his wife, landed in Vietnman, leading a high-level delegation to the Indochinese country from June 17 to 22 at the invitation of Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, President of the National Assembly of Vietnam, who welcomed him on the tarmac of the Noi Bai International Aiport, in the Vietnamese Capital of Hanoi.

President of Haitian Senate to make six days official visit in Vietnam


On January 13, 2017, Mr. Youri Latortue was elected President of the Haitian Senate and also President of the National Assembly of Haiti.

This is the first time the Haitian Senate has sent a high-level delegation to Vietnam. It is also the first exchange of delegations between the two Vietnamese and Haitian legislative bodies, helping to promote friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Vietnam already has Its footprint in Haiti, the state run telecom company Viettel and the Haitian government owned Teleco, in a joint venture in 2011 opened the second largest telecom company in Haiti Natcom.
