President of Haiti held work meeting with Secretary General of CARICOM in Port-au-Prince

The President of Haiti Jovenel Moïse, received the Secretary General of CARICOM, Ambassador Irwin Laroque, on Tuesday, June 13, at the National Palace, to discuss, among other things, the Haitian Community Presidency , From January 1, 2018, and from the presence of CARICOM in Haiti.

Discussions focused on the major challenges facing the region, Haiti's participation in CARICOM activities, the conclusions and recommendations of the meetings of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Community, The CARICOM Secretariat reform process, intra-regional transport, health, education, the new foreign policy of the United States of America and the United Kingdom's 'European Union.

The President of the Republic, accompanied by Prime Minister Dr. Jack Guy Lafontant and members of the Presidential Cabinet, took the opportunity to inform the Secretary General of the CARICOM, Mr. Irwin Laroque, of the good disposition of his administration to work towards closer and deeper cooperation between the Republic of Haiti and CARICOM.
