During the meeting, the two heads of States discussed at length the situation of Haitian immigrants who remain in Mexico in their attempt to reach the United States. More than 15.000 Haitians who previously were admitted in Brazil after the 2010 earthquake have left the south american country on foot due to political and economic crisis, but are now stuck at the Mexican border since the new US administration won't grant them humanitarian asylum.
