Light 4.6 magnitude earthquake reported off the coast of Haiti

A light 4.6 magnitude earthquake was reported on the Haitian coast, 34 kilometers (21 miles) from Petit Trou de Nippes on Friday. A tsunami warning has not been issued. The 4.6 magnitude quake was detected at 7:25 PM local time.

In the past 24 hours, there have been one, in the last 10 days one, in the past 30 days one and in the last 365 days three earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater that has struck Haiti.

In January 2010, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake devastated the Haitian capital, killing more than 220.000 making an equal number of injured and rendered 1.5 million homeless.
