Light 3.19 magnitude earthquake shook Haitian capital on Tuesday

The BME Technical Seismology Unit (UTS) is teaming up with the Ministry of the Environment MDE and the Permanent Secretariat for Risk and Disaster Management to inform that a light earthquake of magnitude 3.19 on the Ritcher scale has been recorded on Tuesday, January 09, 2018 at 1:46 PM (local time). The epicenter was located about 15 km south of Carrefour, 16 km southwest of Fermathe and 18 km southwest of Port-au-Prince. The shock was widely felt in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince.
