The infamous Dominican woman Mary Peláez, whom in 2009 was arrested and charged with money laundering through the drug trafficking network led by Puerto Rican drug kingpin José Figueroa Agosto; recently made a visit in Haiti, and shared some photographs on her Facebook page during her time there.

Below a now deleted caption that read " From my personal" Peláez shared some pictures she took with the former Haitian president Michel Martelly whom she described as "a man full of positive qualities and humble."

Recall that Mary Peláez was sentenced in September 2011 to 15 years in prison for drug trafficking and money laundering; the sentence was reduced to seven years by the Dominican Republic's Second Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice in July 2013.  She was released in 2015, after being granted conditional freedom after spending about five years in prison for the money laundering and drug trafficking connections charges.
