Benoit recalled the ideas and initiatives of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, who promoted Cuban missions in support of Haiti.

He commented that tourism is also part of the development, and described as wonderful the work done by the historian of Havana, Eusebio Leal, as a key factor for the city to be declared Ciudad Maravilla.

The diplomat said he works with the Cuban Ministry of Commerce and Foreign Investment to promote trade relations between the two countries.
He said that a meeting on solidarity and cooperation between Cuba and Caricom will be prepared for March, in order to promote the advance of the Caribbean region.
