Reiterating its ambition to make the SHAISA plant, one of the most modern in the Caribbean, President Jovenel Moïse is aiming for a public-private partnership to strengthen the agricultural sector and offer new business opportunities that can showcase the agricultural production zones of the country.
"The launch of the change caravan scheduled for May 1 in the Artibonite valley will allow the clearing of 197 km of drainage channels, 87 km of irrigation canals and in particular the rehabilitation of 100 km of agricultural roads In the valley of Artibonite before reaching the other departments of the country in the coming months, " recalled the Head of State.
The factory's general manager, Georges Cassis, for his part, thanked the President of the Republic for his commitment to strengthening the Haitian agribusiness community. The businessman says he wants to work with the government to expand the production base of the plant and be more efficient on the ground.
Currently extending over 50 hectares at Croix-des-Bouquets, the company plans to expand its action on more than 600 hectares to generate 150,000 jobs in the sector.
