On Valentine's Day, Haitian president Jovenel Moise paid a visit to the Corps of Intervention and the Maintaining of Order( CIMO) headquarters where he saluted the hard work of the police officers and promised to change their working conditions.

Speaking before hundreds of officers, the president acknowledged the difficult conditions in which the police operates in Haiti, and the lack of social benefits according to police officers. Jovenel Moise told his audience that they have a new president they can believe in.  A president who will do everything to change their lives.

President Moise said that he counts on the men and women sworn to Protect and Serve, because "there are no presidents on earth who can say that they will lead a country without a force that maintains order."

President Jovenel Moise also met with the head of that branch of the Haitian National Police to discuss the agency's security plan for 2017.
