Haiti's Minister of Foreign Affairs had a meeting with Cuban ambassador

Lener Renaud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Haiti, met with the ambassador of Cuba, Ricardo Garcia Naples, where they discussed issues related to the holding of the Ministerial Meeting for the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), to be held on 18 and 19 January next in this brother country.

In the coming conclave, Cuba will assume the rotating presidency of the ACS, an organization born in 1994 in Colombia and aims to identify and promote consultation, cooperation and concerted action among all the countries of the Caribbean area.

Mr. Lener Renaud and Cuban Ambassador also talked about regional issues and in particular those concerning cooperation that Cuba carried out in Haiti.

The V Summit of Heads of State and Government of the ACS was held in Haiti on 26 April 2013. It was attended by the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, Perry Christie, Prime Minister of Belize, Dean Oliver Barrow, President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, the President of Guatemala, Otto Perez Molina, the President of Honduras, Porfirio Lobo Sosa, Prime Minister of Jamaica, Portia Simpson-Miller, President of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, the President of the Dominican Republic, Danilo Medina Sánche, Vice President and Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Elias Jaua Milano, and as a country observer, President of Chile, Sebastian Pinera.

Cuba participated for the first Vice-President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez.
