The newly sworn in parliament drafted a resolution to stop the second round of presidential elections scheduled for January 24 until all allegations of fraud that marred the legislative elections as well as the presidentials can be studied more deeply.
The drafted resolution that will be put into vote Wednesday, also seeks the resignation of the CEP members accused of corruption.
This resolution should pass easily, it is already receiving a lot of support in the senate controlled by the opposition. Such a resolution will put Haiti closer to a transitional government because it seems impossible that any commission would be able to investigate all these allegations of fraud in 18 days.
