Haiti declares six days of National Mourning over the death of former President, Rene Preval

Haitian President Jovenel Moise decreed six days of national mourning in memory of the beloved former President  Rene Garcia Preval, who passed away March 3rd, at his home in Laboule at the age of 74, following a heart attack.

The six days begin March 6 and end on Saturday 11, the day of the State Funeral of Rene Preval, a man whom according to President Jovenel Moise, has marked the political history of Haiti during the last 30 years.

During this time of National Mourning, the flag of Haiti will be at half-mast over all public buildings and schools.

Radio and Television stations are encouraged to broadcast, on Friday 10 and Saturday 11, musics and documentaries pertaining to the life and work of the late  president Rene Garcia Preval.
