Four people were killed and an equal number injured during the collapse of a building in downtown Port au Prince

"Four bodies were pulled from the rubble and four others seriously injured were taken to the general hospital in Port-au-Prince." said Wilson Brice, technical coordinator of civil protection.

Brice also explained that "these people were in the building to recover iron bars to resell".


Part of the facade of the building of four floors remained intact, but the interior structures fell.

Rescue teams in place continue to look for other possible victims.

Guillaume Albert Moleon, Interior Ministry spokesman said that it was old soda factory that has not been used since the quake nearly seven years ago.
