Chile’s International Airport Police announced earlier today that they have arrested two Haitian citizens, a man and a woman, as they were entering the country.

“Immigration Detectives have stopped at the Airport, a Haitian citizen who tried to enter Chile and is a fugitive in Haiti, after escaping from a penal precinct in 2016” said the Investigations Police of Chile (PDI) in a statement on its official twitter account, with the attached picture of a man being escorted by police agents.

In a second tweet showing a woman being escorted by two officers, Chile Police said that “ Immigration Detectives arrested a Haitian citizen who enter the country with counterfeit dollars.”

The Police did not return request for comments regarding the names of the alleged criminals, if Haiti officials were contacted and when they will be deported.
