The Canadian Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, Marie-Claude Bibeau, will arrive in Haiti Wednesday November 16th for a two days visit, where she is expected to travel to the southwestern town of Le Cayes, the are hardest hit by last October 4th Hurricane Matthew.
The visit of the Canadian Minister of International Development and La Fancophonie, her first to Haiti, will give her first hand look at the extent of the damages left by the powerful storm that has killed nearly 1.000 displaced more than 350.00 and left 1.5 million in urgent humanitarian assistance.
“Canada stands in solidarity with and firmly beside the people of Haiti to ensure that those who are most vulnerable, especially women and children, receive all of the assistance they need. This first visit to Haiti will allow me to support the important work being done by our partners and to see the extent of the damage there.”
The Canadian representative will al meet with high ranking offiials as well as Canadian humanitarian organisations operating in Haiti.
