The body responsible for the organisation of elections in Haiti, CEP has just announced its cancellation of the second round presidential elections that was supposed to take place Sunday January 24th.

In the note release to the media, the CEP says that due to the degenerating security conditions and the dangers "impending " over the processus, it has decided to  postpone indefinitely the process.

Since the beginning of this week, a series of violent protests have taken place in Port-au-Prince, Cap Haitian and other populous haitian cities. Many private properties were vandalized, including many cars that were torched.

This Friday the atmosphere remains tense around the capital and some vehicles belonging to the Haitian government have been set on fire.
