Hurricane Matthew has left 108 people dead in Haiti, according to the latest report of Haiti's interior minister.

One local official, speaking to AFP, said 50 people had died in the southern town of Roche-a-Bateau alone.

New images from remote and cut off areas in the south-west of the country show scenes of devastation. Earlier today,  Haitian president Jocelerme Privert who flew above the devastated areas earlier today said "The damages are enormous." while also emphasizing the importance of quickly providing aids to those affected and to begin rehabilitating the destroyed or severely damaged infrastructures
