Breaking News: Access to Haiti southern peninsula cut off after bridge washed away [video]

The powerful Hurricane Matthew continues to wreak havoc across Haiti. Videos circulating on Haitian social media are showing that the bridge Ladigue to Petit Goave has just been washed away by the raging river, essentially cutting off road access to rest of the southern peninsula; the area expected to be the hardest hit.


Hurricane Matthew made landfall in Haiti in the early morning hours of Tuesday, lashing out winds at 145mph and dumping torrential rains over Haiti's denuded mountains.  

Earlier today , the United States has announced that it will be sending 
the carrier George Washington and the amphibious transport dock Mesa Verde, supported by Navy and Marine aviation, after a request made by Haitian government.
