2.5 miles long, the Marie-Jeanne Cave is the longest cave discovered in Haiti thus far. It is located in Port-a-Piment, about 30 minutes walk from the lush southern city of Les Cayes.

The three level interior of the caves offers spectacular view of stunning, colorful rock formation and unspoiled fauna.

Over the years numerous artifacts dating back to the pre-columbian Taino/Arawak period have been discovered throughout the 36 chambers cave.  Intact paintings on the walls of  the cave can also be seen.

Recently, Haiti's Ministry of Tourism has done some important work at the cave to accommodate the visitors. A welcome centre have been constructed, signs in different languages along the path leading to the attraction have been placed.
