Heineken recently celebrated its installation of its newest and finest brewers to the National brewing company Brasseries Nationales d'Haiti (BRANAH) located in Port-au-Prince. This upgrade is part of the $ 40 million that the company pledged in 2013 to upgrade the company's facilities, equipment and boost production; as a result Heineken raised its stake in BRANAH from 22.5% to 95%. Heineken has invested in the production of sorgho, known as (Pitimi) in Haiti which will be used in 20 % of brewing and 40% for packaging by 2018. Heineken currently purchase over 5.000 tons of sorgho from Haitian farmers annually.
These latest technologies will allow Heineken to brew 40% more beer.
