The Inter American Development Bank has approved a $55 million aid for the expansion of the Caracol Industrial Park as demands for Haitian exports continue to grow. The govenrment of the United States has allocated an addittional $15 million to the aid package, totalling to $70 million.
This new expansion will be responsible for approximately 6800 new employment, with 65% being women.
funds will also be set aside for the protection of Haiti's largest mangroves reserve located near the industrial park; transportation and other urban development projects.
